It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Cofield of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton L. Cofield, Sr. and Sallie Cofield; his siblings, Carolyn J. Cofield, Clinton L. Cofield, Jr. and William Walker; his aunts and uncles, Robert Cofield, George Cofield, Mildred and Lucy B. Patterson; and his niece Shalonda Cofield.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Jefferson (Shawn) of Chicago, Richelle Hill and Mindica "Mindy" Hill of Suffolk, Virginia; his close friend Janice Frye of Suffolk, Virginia; his brother Walliyyuddin Shakir of Hampton, Virginia; his aunt Juanita Diggs of Henderson, N. C.; and his sisters-in-law, Brenda Cofield of Suffolk and Ethel Walker of Henderson, N. C.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
