With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Dale Davis Sr. (Suffolk, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2026 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Louise McMikel Davis and Benjamin Hill Davis Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Mae Hoover Davis; his children, Ricky Piland (Barbara), Randy Phelps, Lisa Roth, Curtis Davis, Thomas Gallagher (Luann), John Ross Gallagher, Jimmy Gallagher, Bobby Davis and Harley Lee Davis; his stepchildren, Johnathan Yautau Brown, Kimberly Mae Brown and Angela Marie Herron; and his siblings, Katherine Louise Peeler (Jack), Benjamin Hill Davis Jr. (Bertha), Tim Scott (Chris), Linda Buranich, Ronnie DeGrove (Marie), Sabra Ann Maye, Gary Paul Davis Sr. (Angel), Donald Wayne Davis Sr. (Toni) and Patricia Laureano. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
