With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah W. Milteer of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on May 24, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Turner R.; her husband Curtis Robert Milteer, Sr.; her son Curtis Robert Milteer, Jr.; her daughters-in-law, Debra Milteer and Barbara Milteer; her grandson Jervonte T. Barnes; and her siblings, George Walker (Gladys), Virginia Chenault (David), Dorothy Walker (Stone), Jeremiah Walker (Sadie) and Alma Louise Washington.
She is survived by: her sons, Anthony Wayne Milteer of Suffolk, VA and Albert Lee Milteer of Suffolk, VA; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Whitfield of Suffolk, VA, Curtis Marcus (Latoya), Curtis Barnes of Portsmouth, VA, Shiquita Harris (Alton) of Chesapeake, VA, Sintia Holliman of Suffolk, VA, Crystal Edmonds, Loganville, Anthony Daughtrey of Warner Robins, GA, Antionette, Daughtrey of Gainesville, GA and William Whitfield (De'Borah); her sister Bessie Cornelison of Berea; and her daughter-in-law Carmen Milteer of Suffolk, VA. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the T. E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home (405 Johnson Ave, Suffolk, VA 23434). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Mark's Episcopal Church (142 Tynes St, Suffolk, VA 23434). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at the Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
