It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shera Magdalene Ruffin (Suffolk, Virginia), who passed away on September 17, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Margaret Edwena Ruffin. She is survived by: her daughter Rachel Stone; her grandson Bryson Lee Hebert III of California; and her siblings, Lillie Mae Drewitt (Dwight) of Suffolk, Denise Reese (James) of Suffolk, Bernice Fields (George) of South Carolina and Derek Pretlow of New York.
After graduating from high school she attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology and pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. From there, she attended Hampton University where she earned a Master's degree in Pre-Med; and was appreciated for her contributions to cancer research.
