He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Savage Jr. of Accomac County and Martha Louise Savage (Matzie) of Chuckatuck, Virginia.; his sister Martha Ligon Savage; and his nephew William R. Savage IV "Rick". He is survived by: his wife Virginia L. Savage; his daughter Stephanie L. Savage; his brother William R. Savage, III; his nephew Charles Steele Savage (Jennifer); his great-nieces, Madelyn Lane Savage and Kelly Savage Knight (Matt); and his nieces, Linda Wilkins (Norman) and Patricia Springer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Suffolk Christian Church, Western Tidewater Free Clinic, or Suffolk Salvation Army.
