He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Compton and Vinnie Compton; his wife Ethel Compton; his son Thomas "Sam" Compton; and his sisters, Gaynell Saine (Wayne) and Geraldine Proffit (Ervin).
He is survived by: his son Kenny Compton (Amanda); his grandchildren, Cody Compton, Crystal, Tyler Compton and Andy "Sara" Compton; his great grandchildren, Wayne Compton and Miranda Compton; his sisters-in-law, Gail Hager, Dorye Bowman (Buddy) and Nelma Elswick (Jessee); and his close friend Dean King.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel (938 N Main St, Marion, VA 24354). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
