We bid farewell to Carole Celeste Ortmyer of Sumerduck, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 4, 2025 at the age of 79. Carole touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Harvey Ortmyer; her brother James Timothy Sullivan; and her parents, Lawrence Sullivan and Florence Sullivan. She is survived by: her children, Wendy Merwin, Rodney Ortmyer and Stacey Edwards (Brian); her siblings, Larry Sullivan (Shelley), Yvonne "Bubbie" Cannon and Leita Bennett (Timothy); her grandchildren, Samantha Watkins, Caitlyn Watkins, Wesley Johnson, Brooke Edwards and Hunter Edwards; and her great grandchildren, Ariel Johnson, Emma Leach and Carter Thomas.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Bright View Cemetery (8265 Lunsford Rd, Warrenton, VA 20187).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made in her honor to cancer research organizations.
