She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe Hiatt and Hattie Edwards Hiatt; her husband Howard Hicks; her children, Gary Hicks and Judy Goad; and her siblings, Annabelle Marion, Coy Hiatt, Roy Hiatt and David Hiatt.

She is survived by : her grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin Patterson) and Brad (Traci Goad); her great grandchildren, Laken Patterson, Katelyn Patterson, Reed Goad and Jack Goad; and her son-in-law Jack Goad.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy NC 27030.
