She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Thomas Hostetter and Carrie Cecil Hostetter (Clark); her former husband Carl Wilmer Landes; her husband Robert Gene Riley; her children, Alton C. Monroe, Arnold C. Monroe and Wanda C. Monroe; her stepdaughter Shirley Curry; her granddaughter Cynthia Leigh Hodge; and her siblings, William, Robert, Kenny, John Hostetter, Mary Dudley, Rosetta Sprouse and Effie Sweet.
She is survived by: her daughters, Christine D. Hinkle (Curtice) of Swoope and Melissa L. Peckham (Robert) of Lexington; her stepchildren, Loretta Callison, Phyllis Bird (Charlie) and Glasgow Riley, Jr. (Hope); her grandchildren, Kenneth Hodge, Sharon Monroe, Brian and Michael Monroe; her great grandchildren, James Hinkle, Wesley White, Jackie Szwec, Kathryn Curry, Karissa Hodge, Brittany Huff, Jessica Monroe and Samantha Monroe; and her great great grandchildren, Jude Louk, Asher Bruff, Maysin Hinkle, Caleb Hinkle, Rigby Curry, Kayla Hinkle, Lee Ann Huff, Leland Botkin and Charleigh Robbins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lighthouse Church (5031 Morris Mill Rd, Swoope, VA 24479).
