He was predeceased by: his son Steven Ray; and his parents, Mark Ray and Betsy Ray. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ray; his children, Nicky McDaniel (Tamara), Wendy Payne (Dan), Mark Ray (Donna) and Matthew Ray; his grandchildren, Jennifer Ray, James Ray (Tiffany), Mikaela Stone (David), Nicky McDaniel (Nicole), Reign McDaniel (Ashley) and Ryan Comes (Sara); and his siblings, Barbara Barnes and George Ray. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Quantico National Cemetery (18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172).
