He was predeceased by : his parents, Glen Stuart Howery and Margaret Ellen Peery Howery; and his siblings, Tiny Absher, Sam Howery, Mose "Spud" Howery and Jack "Runt" Howery.

He is survived by : his children, Joshua Shawn Howery (Crystal) of Rock, WV, Tina Justine Howery and Benjamin Arnold Howery of Tazewell, VA; and his brothers, Dickie Howery, Don Howery and Jody Howery. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
