He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fulton Murdock and Minnie M. Cochran Murdock; his wife Helen Murdock; and his granddaughter Amber Danielle Cruey. He is survived by: his children, James R. Murdock, Jr. of LaCross, WI, Margie Cruey of North Tazewell, VA and Lora White (Christopher) of North Tazewell, VA; and his close friend Alma Jean Smith of Tazewell, VA. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
