He was predeceased by: his parents, Powell R. Sluss and Margaret Dickenson Sluss; his wife Mary Pauline Sluss; and his siblings, Donald Sluss, Wilbur Sluss and Zelma Karnes.
He is survived by: his children, David Sluss (Karen) of Bluefield, VA and Kym Decker of Chattanooga, TN; his sisters, Phyllis Warden and Ruth Fields; his sisters-in-law, Constance Sparks of Abingdon, VA, Patricia Chapman of Ringgold, GA and Shirley Eckstein of Roanoke, VA; his grandchildren, Jonathan Decker (Kori), Bradley Decker, Aurora Decker, Meghan Decker, Isaiah Sluss and Leah Sluss; his great grandchild Easton Wayne Sluss; and his nephew Blake Warden.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home (232 Ben Bolt Ave, Tazewell, VA 24651). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Memory Gardens (38659 Gov G C Peery Hwy, Bluefield, VA 24605).
