We announce the death of Darlene Cherrix of Temperanceville, Virginia, who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 81. Darlene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arella Brittingham Collins and John E. Collins; and her siblings, Almeta Fleetwood, Kathryn Williams, Betty Lang, Peggy Troutman, Johnny, Wade and Bobby Dale Collins.
She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Hill; her son-in-law Phillip; her son David Cherrix; her granddaughter Arella Harris (Roger); and her sisters, Beverly Meyers and Barbara Squibb. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (6365 Church St, Chincoteague, VA 23336). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
