He was predeceased by : his parents, Michael R. Showalter and Fannie Heatwole Showalter; and his brothers, Edward, Marvin, Harold, Michael, John, William "Bill", Dan and Harry Showalter.
He is survived by : his wife Frances V. Litten; his sons, Shannon L. Showalter (Sarah) of Timberville, Scott L. Showalter of Timberville and Slade L. Showalter (Angelique) of Timberville; his grandchildren, Benjamin of Timberville, Ava of Timberville, Taylor of Timberville, Briar of Timberville, Easton of Timberville, Sage of Timberville and Addisyn Showalter of Timberville; and his siblings, S. Frank Showalter (Cathy) of Timberville, Margaret Cline (James) of Harrisonburg, Fannie Bell Good (Willis) of Dayton, Mary Rhodes and Eunice Knicely.
