He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Meekins; his wife Myrtle Chapman; and his siblings, Elihu Greenhow, George Meekins, Theodore Greenhow, Mignonette Canady, Mahilda Brown and Mary Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Deneen Skinner (Stanley) and James L. Chapman; his grandchildren, Rayvon Chapman, Diamond Chapman, Jordan Chapman and Makiyah Ellis-Imgram; his siblings, Dorothy Walston, Minge Berkeley and Bernard Meekins (Christine); and his siblings-in-law, Sarah E. Tyler and Charles Tyler. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He retired from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation after more than thirty years of dedicated service.
