She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Kirkland, Sr. and Lucy Kirkland Samuels; her husband Edward D. Young; and her siblings, Elijah Kirkland, Jr., Theodore Kirkland, Charles Kirkland, Etta Kirkland and Joyce Crockett.
She is survived by: her children, Andre Chapman (Tenita), Tonya Chapman and Danielle Swails; her sister Judy Diane Kirkland; her grandchildren, Tiffany Fuller, Andre Chapman Jr. (Alexis), Curtis Chapman of Jazmin Woodson, M. P. A., B. A. of Alexis Moss, B. S. and Darrian Mangum; her great grandchildren, William Barnes, Carmela Chapman, Jadon Chapman, Janelle Chapman, Sean Chapman, Aurie Gary, Aubrie Gary and Skylar Mangum; and her niece Andrea Lynn McCain (Chris). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
