He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman L. Layman and Ruth Miller Layman; his sisters, Doris Jean Locker and Betty Jane Layman; and his son James Webb Layman.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Webb Layman; his children, Charles Alan Layman (Julie), Lester F. Layman (Penny), Barbara Jean Layman (Kellie) and Betty Layman Witt (Mike); his grandchild Courtney Layman (Sarah); and his great grandchildren, Jaymes and Etta Milston.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Zion United Methodist Church (1674 Zion Rd, Troy, VA 22974).
