She was predeceased by: her parents, Layton Earl Sandridge and Erlene Thelma Wood Sandridge. She is survived by: her husband Maurice Wood; her son Michael Wood; her sister Faye Wharton of Archdale, NC; and her children, Paul Wharton, II (Emily) and Nikki Bishop (Stephen).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home - Charlottesville Chapel (201 1st St S, Charlottesville, VA 22902). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holly Memorial Gardens (3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22911). A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
