We bid farewell to Wayne Wheeler of Verona, Virginia, born in Bedford, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 13, 2025 at the age of 85. Wayne touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his significant other Nancy Atkinson Wheeler; his parents, Rural Wheeler and Sollie Wheeler; his brothers, Liburn, Alvin, Calvin and Luther; and his grandson Anthony Simmons.
He is survived by: his son Randy W. Wheeler (Frances); his grandsons, Derek (Michelle), Corey (Bri) and Brice Wheeler; and his great grandchildren, Colton, Chloe and Aleeyah.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel (627 Hardy Rd, Vinton, VA 24179). A graveside service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mountain View Cemetery (1401 Mountain View Rd, Vinton, VA 24179).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Verona United Methodist Church, 406 Lee Highway, Verona, Va 24482.
