He was predeceased by: his parents, Eckle Gibson and Ruby Gibson of St. Charles, Virginia; and his siblings, Hershel Gibson, Hubert Gibson, Minnie Lambert, Freda Carrier and Dorothy Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Craig Gibson; his children, Jason Gibson (Pam), Shawn Gibson and Nicole Martin (Ray); his grandchildren, Jessica Graybill, Justin Gibson, Rachel Ellis, Dallas Gibson, Savanah Gibson, Landon Martin and Lacie Gibson; his great grandchildren, Brayden Graybill, Addison Graybill, Layken Graybill, Zander Grady, Lily Gibson, Sadie Gibson and Marleigh Gibson; his uncle Charles Gibson; and his siblings, Clarence Gibson, Brenda Goins, Harriet James and Wilma Smith. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel (627 Hardy Rd, Vinton, VA 24179). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Valley Church (8100 Angel Ln, Roanoke, VA 24019).
