He was predeceased by: his parents, William Forbes and Dorothy Forbes; his brother Ronald; and his son David. He is survived by: his wife Madeline "Mattie" Simmons; his son Douglas Allen (Connie); his daughter-in-law Caroline; and his grandchildren, Jenna, Joelle, Justin, Sarah, Clint and Emma. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
