He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wingfield and Mary Wingfield; his wife Shirley Louise Wingfield; and his brothers, William "Bill" Wingfield (Darlene), James Wingfield (Linda) and Robert Wingfield, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, David Wingfield (Melissa), Mike Wingfield (Barbie) and Denise Charters (Chris); his grandchildren, Tristain, Katy, Alexis, Justin and Corey; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Wingfield, June Ritter, Clayton Flowers (Kim) and Roger Flowers (Nancy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lotz Funeral Home (305 E Washington Ave, Vinton, VA 24179). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
