It is with sadness that the passing of Gary Lynn King of Vinton, Virginia is shared. Gary, born on November 11, 1948, passed away on October 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover King and Edith Lytton; his father-in-law Johnny Lytton; his nephew Eddie; his great-nephew Mason; his brother-in-law Lynn; Norris King.
He is survived by: his pets, Huckleberry, Bonnie and Clyde; his wife Ruth "Gayle" King; his children, John (Priscilla) and Shawna (Dewayne); his grandchildren, Coy, Shaylee and Paizlee; his siblings, Brenda (Clifford), Ronnie (Susan), Rita (Hugh) and Charlie; and his sister-in-law Linda.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lotz Funeral Home (305 E Washington Ave, Vinton, VA 24179).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Bedford County Animal Shelter and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
