He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry J. Saunders and Luna Bowman Saunders; and his children, India Saunders, Mary Ellen Saunders, Linda Barber and Larry Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald W. Saunders, Jr., Michael Saunders, Sr., Judy Saunders, Shelby Saunders, Gary Saunders, Jeannie Gordon, Ruby Fletchem and Donna Epperly; and his siblings, Doris Saunders, Gary Saunders and Melvin Saunders.
