She was predeceased by: her parents, David Horne and Roberta Horne (Jenkins); her husband Danny Augustus Abbott; her daughter Julie Marie Conner; and her siblings, Robert Horne, Carroll Horne, John Horne, Hazel Davidson, Frances Lawhorn, Lawrence Horne, Donald Ray Horne, Bill Horne and Barbara Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine Hartsel (Joe), Penny Potts and Aaron Abbott; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hartsel, Annabelle Hartsel Morehouse (Nick), Mike Conner, Rachel Terry (R. B.), James Clark and Hannah Abbott; her great grandchildren, Jubal Hartsel, Juniper Hartsel, Gabriel Morehouse, Grace Morehouse, Luke Morehouse, Benjamin Benson, Kiernan Terry and Sam Clark; and her siblings, David Horne, Doug Horne, Betty Hughes and Pauline Hurd. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel (627 Hardy Rd, Vinton, VA 24179). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
