With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Melody Mabe of Vinton, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Melody left this world on June 8, 2025 at the age of 72, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Cook and Robert DeHaven; her brother Robert DeHaven Jr.; and her husband Carlton Mabe Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Carlton Mabe and Samantha Mabe (Brian); her grandchildren, Hudson, Harper and Holden Leggett; her cousins, Shelia and Pam; her friend Debbie; and her pets, Rango and Clarabelle.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vinton Baptist Church (219 E Washington Ave, Vinton, VA 24179). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Melody's memory to the Vinton Baptist Church Music Fund or the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech.
