William Gibbs Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of William Gibbs of Vinton, Virginia. William, born on December 14, 1931, passed away on September 4, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Gibbs to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Gibbs; his parents, Ballard Gibbs and Ruby Gibbs; and his sister Jean Noell. He is survived by: his children, Genny Ramsey (Jeff) of Stuarts Draft, VA and William Gibbs (Sharon) of Vinton, VA; his grandchildren, Conner Buddington (Brad), Madelyn Harrison (Logan) and Caroline Gibbs (Bryce); his great grandchildren, Baylor and Tatum; his nephews, Bob Hylton (Connie) and Tim Noell (Cheryl); and his niece Cathy Chandler (Vernon).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel (627 Hardy Rd, Vinton, VA 24179). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens (5731 Airport Rd NW, Roanoke, VA 24012).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice and Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center.
