He is survived by: his wife Ida Pulliam Smith; his children, James Henry Smith, Nancy Smith White and Otis Lee Smith; and his sisters, Dorothy Hite and Margaret Link. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home (115 Main St, South Boston, VA 24592). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Aaron's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
