With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carl D. Nelson D. C. of Virginia Beach, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Carl and Martha Poston Nelson; his aunt Maude Lockwood; and his half-siblings, Anna Nelson and Paul Nelson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Silver Nelson (Pete), Martha Newell (John) and Molly Nelson (James); his grandchildren, Brooks (Daisha), Warnie Conley (Riley), Ophelia, Annabelle and Holden Newell; his great grandchild Reign Conley; and his caregiver Julie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
