He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Corley and Glenna Texter Corley; his siblings, Judith Tenney (Dick), Susan LaPorte (George) and Lester Corley (Cheryl); and his nephews, George "Jeep" LaPorte and Joesph "Joe" Tenney.
He is survived by: his wife Lynette Sykes Corley; his children, Ceci Corley Smith (Shawn) and Sean David Corley; and his grandson Howell Orion Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his honor to either the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center's Education Department or to the St. Jude's Children's Hospitals.
