He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Borntrager and Fanny Borntrager. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Parker; his children, Beth Banton (Roger), Barbara Hall-Simpson, Shelly Ripa (Perry) and David P. Borntrager; and his grandchildren, Heather Spencer, John Stoneberger Jr., Marie Blumenberg, Kerstin Bettioui, Vanessa Borntrager, Naomi Dobler, Kelsey Ripa, Faith Woodward and Riley Ripa.
