He was predeceased by: his parents, James V. Markley and Helen Shaver Markley. He is survived by: his wife Beth Hymes; his son Spencer Johnston of Virginia Beach; his cousin Don Markley (Becky) of Weston; his close friends, Bill and Molly Burkhammer of Jane Lew, WV; his brothers-in-law, Nick Hymes (Kathleen) of Austin, TX and Mark Hymes of Clarksburg, MD; his nieces, Sarah Hymes of New York City, NY, Laura Geissler (Andrew) of Austin, TX and Kendall Hymes of Arlington, VA; his nephew Connor Hymes of Arlington, VA; and his aunt June Audia of Reynoldsville, WV.
