Ethel Dougherty Hersey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Dougherty Hersey (Virginia Beach, Virginia), born in Richmond Hill, New York, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Dougherty and Evelyn Dougherty; her siblings, Carole Schoedel (Dougherty), Everett Dougherty and Lois Sommers (Dougherty); and her close friend Hank Trafford.

She is survived by: her children, Gail Braswell (Hersey), Mark, Bruce and Roy Hersey; and her former husband Fredrick B. Hersey. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
