He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Newton Wilhoit, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Kite; his former wife Jean Kirk Wilhoit; his children, Gordon Beale Wilhoit, MD (Robyn), Stephen Curtis Wilhoit (Jennifer) and Peyton Kirk Wilhoit Miller (David); his grandchildren, Tyler Wilhoit (Catherine) of Cameron Wilhoit, MD, Hunter Jacques (Mike), Justin Miller (Genifer), Ashley Coburn (Hayden), Jordan Miller (Robert), Stephanie Wilhoit-Reeves (Parker) and Leslie Wilhoit; his grandfather Robert Edward Wilhoit; and his great-grandparent John Newton Wilhoit. He was also cherished by 6 great grandchildren.
It was Beale's wish, in lieu of flowers, that any donation made in memorial to him be made to Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad (vbvrs.org) or Guiding Eyes for the Blind (http://www.guidingeyes.org).
