He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Thompson and Annie M. Thompson; and his former wife Patricia V. Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Carole Piper Thompson; his sons, Bryan Thompson (Debra) and Kevin Thompson (Christina); his grandsons, Bryan "Preston" Thompson, Jr. (Stephanie) and Ryan Scott Thompson (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Owen W. Thompson, Ada J. Thompson, Ivy J. Thompson and Wrenley J. Thompson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home (5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
