He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Schmidt and Pauline Green Schmidt; his wife Evelyn Ruff Schmidt; Linda Defrates. He is survived by: his friend Carolyn Hink; his children, David (Miles Cherkasky), Karen, Donna Miller (Rob) and Michael (Chauna); his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Schmidt; his grandchildren, Abby Meads (David), Kevin Schmidt (Mercedes), Stephen Schmidt (Dani), Grace Schmidt, Thandiwe Schmidt, Dyllan Miller (Victoria), Cameryn Schmidt and Corbin Schmidt; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn Jean Miller, Eden Meads, Ezra Meads, Sophia Schmidt, Avery Schmidt, John Jacob Schmidt and Holly Schmidt.
