He is survived by: his wife Ann Hurst Long; his daughters, Elizabeth Garafola of Virginia Beach and Lori Pinner (David) of Windsor; his grandchildren, Karesa Anderson (Stuart) of Fredericksburg, Joseph Garafola of Petersburg and Kathryn Garafola of Washington; and his sister-in-law Inez Long of Norfolk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
