She was predeceased by: her father Horace Culpepper; her former husband Rev. Albert Kenneth Carlton Jr.; her grandson Blake Carlton; and her former husband Horton, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Carlton Cox (Jeffrey Cox) of Kernersville, NC, Albert Kenneth "Casey" Carlton, III (Rikki Carlton) of Elizabeth City, NC, Todd Carlton (Jennifer Carlton) of Mooresville, NC and Jennifer Carlton Kibel (Shawn Kibel) of Kennesaw, GA; her grandchild Ashley Cox Messer (Tyler Messer); her children, Alex Cox, Danielle Carlton, Jacob Carlton, Camden Carlton, Carsen Carlton, Grason Carlton, Lauren Maguire and Spencer Maguire (Allyson); her great grandchild Callie Lynn Messer; her stepgrandchildren, Gracie Kibel, CJ Kibel and Logan Kibel; her brother Herbert A. Culpepper, Sr. (Carolyn); and her sister-in-law Martha Heiser (Tom). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
