He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Larkin and Lizzie Dale Carter; and his siblings, Bud, George, Rufus Carter, Clare Snead, Annie Ruth North and Vivian Whaley.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Michael Carter (Elisa) of Moyock and Brianne McConnell (Mark) of Mclean; his grandchildren, Keira Carter, Skylar Carter, Colton Carter, Delaney McConnell and Avery McConnell; and his siblings, Jimmy, Jerry Carter and Leda Ray. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
