He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. McGill and Catherine McGill (Benson); his wife Dorothy Nolan; and his siblings, Maureen McGill and George McGill.
He is survived by: his daughter Joanne Dickson; his grandchildren, Ronan O'Leary and Kevin Dickson; his son John K. McGill (Valerie); his grandchildren, Sean McGill, Tylar McGill and Gannon McGill; and his sisters, Patricia Lynch and Barbara O'Grady. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad (VBVRS).
