She was predeceased by : her parents, G. Patrick Sumner and Dora Hornbake (Gillingham) of California, PA; her husband Vance Elliot Spurgeon; and her son Jay. She is survived by : her children, Juliana (Julie), Vance (Van) and Susan (Christian); and her pet Daisy. She is also survived by good friend to his six children and their spouses.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to All Saints' Episcopal Church, a place that held profound significance for Mary Lynne.
