With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard David Roberts of Virginia Beach, Virginia, born in Boston, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 12, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Richard's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Hanson Roberts. He is survived by: his daughters, Catherine Roberts Dodge of Virginia Beach, Dr. Helen Elizabeth Roberts of Virginia Beach and Caroline Roberts Darby (Patrick) of Birmingham, Alabama; his grandchildren, Richard Townsend Dodge, Andrew Richard Roberts, Patrick Roberts Darby (Kate), Helen Catherine Darby and John Thomas Darby; and his great grandchild Henry Roberts Darby.
