VIRGINIA BEACH – Richard S. Leach, 75, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He is survived by his brother William, sister Elaine, sons Richard and Daniel, grandchildren Christie, Aurora, Abigail, and Spencer, and wife Cindy, her children, and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by parents William and Harriet, and daughter Kimberly.
Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA., graduated from Upper Darby High School, and attended Drexel University for Engineering and Commerce. He was drafted in 1967 and served honorably as a door gunner with the 1st Cavalry in An Khe, Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he moved to Virginia Beach and worked in the trucking and shipping industry for most of his career, including positions in Philadelphia and Baltimore. After “retiring,” he worked other jobs to keep busy, “Sears” was one of his favorites.
When he had time, he loved the outdoors, especially fishing, basketball, and tennis. A wonderful and unselfish man, he devoted most of his time taking care of others and was always ready with a witty comment.
Per his wishes, no service or ceremony will be offered. Those of you who knew him understand why. It is suggested, however, you donate anonymously to the charity of your choice. He was a positive and beautifully influential person. Richard will truly be missed.
