He was predeceased by: his parents, John Charles Gervais and Emma Cecila Jarvais; his brothers, Gilbert, Thomas and Gary Jarvais; and his daughter Shannon Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Lawless Jarvais; his sons, Thomas Byrd, IV (Jennifer Hamrick Elliott) and Kristopher Byrd (Lola Byrd); his stepchild Timika Jarvais Jones; his granddaughters, Gwendalynn and Amelia Jones; and his siblings, Philip Jarvis (Dee Jarvis), Sadie (Richard Lemare), Roma (Eugene Foren) and Linda (Gerry Rogers). He is also survived by grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
