She was predeceased by: her parents, C. E. Hayes and Frances Mast Barnhart; her husband George W. Stroube; her siblings, John Raymond, C. E. Hayes Jr., Calvin Barnhart, Mildred Barnhart and Frances Evelyn Long; and her son-in-law Michael Byrnes.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Stroube (Kathy), Johanna Mitchem (Douglas) and Dianne Byrnes; her grandchildren, John Mitchem (Wendy), Todd Mitchem (Amy), Ryan Byrnes (Haley), Hunter Byrnes (Mary) and Ashleigh Stroube; and her great grandchildren, Savannah, Jaxon, Olivia Mitchem, Sutton and Oliver Byrnes.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oliver Chapel (4713 Haygood Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23455). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fairfax Memorial Park (9900 Braddock Rd, Fairfax, VA 22032).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Andrew (endhunger.com) or United Methodist Family Services (umfs.org).
