It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Veda Jean Schimmel of Virginia Beach, Virginia, born in Norwood, Ohio, who passed away on July 24, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband George W. Schimmel; and her son Thomas W. Swindell, Jr.. She is survived by: her sister Robin; her children, Cynthia, Mark (Ann), Michael G. and Jill; her grandchildren, Michael, Jr. (Sarah), Steven (Jewel), Adam (Kelly), Ryan (Grace) and Stephanie; and her pets, Holly, Jack, Zoey, Tyson, Luna and Lucy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in her name be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA or a charity of your choice.
