We announce the death of Wanda (Goffigan) Pona (Virginia Beach, Virginia), who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 68. Wanda will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard A. Goffigan Sr. and Larose Goffigan; and her brothers, Howard A. Goffigan Jr., Shane Simpson and Kenneth Goffigan.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Goffigan-Kemp (Nakia), Stephanie Pona, Stephan "Nick" Pona, Tyler McDonnell, Brennan McDonnell and Chase McDonnell; her sister Carolyn McDonnell; her grandchildren, Desiree Goffigan, Morgan Pona and Bryson Pona-Cook; her great grandchild Victoria Burke; and her siblings, Joan Stephens (Arnold) and Robin Goffigan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beach Funeral & Cremation Services (4456 Bonney Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Lynnhaven Baptist Church (2744 Robert Jackson Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23452). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Princess Anne Memorial Park (1110 N Great Neck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454).
