He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Granby (Rodgers); his children, William Anderson Granby, Jr. (Kathy), Jacqueline Elizabeth Granby Conley, Dora Mae Granby, Cora Faye Granby-Parker (Gene), Michael Warren Granby (Shawna), Alan LaVerne Curtis (Sandra) and Cornelius Curtis, Sr. (Khadijah); his siblings, Marjorie Treadwell of Jacksonville, NC, Rosa Harrell of Zion, IL, John Granby (Bettye) of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary Hoggard (William) of Chesapeake, VA and James Granby (Sandra) of Tyner, NC.; and his uncles, Little Buddy and William Anderson. He is also survived by grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was a part of the "Golden Corral Gang" – they met on Mondays faithfully until the pandemic hit, where they ate a lot and talked even more.
