It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deacon Richard Clarke Jr. of Wakefield, Virginia, who passed away on March 12, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Clarke of Wakefield, VA; his children, Richard Clarke of New Bern, NC., Mark Anthony Clarke (Geraldine) of Newport News, VA and Cheryl Adams (Jerry) of Emporia, VA; his sisters, Alma Hill of Surry, VA and Marva Fisher of Concord, NC; his siblings-in-law, Thelma Clarke of Smithfield, VA, Frances Spearman of Newburg, NY, Fluorine Jones of Maryland and Paul Jones (Fluorine) of Maryland; and his children, Barbara Bryant of Suffolk, VA, Joseph Edwards, Jr. of Wakefield, VA, Delores Lowery of Fayetteville, NC, Keith Edwards of Fayetteville, NC, Ronald Edwards (Katrina) of Woodbridge, VA and Erica Edwards Oneil (Thurston) of Long Island, NY.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
